I'm crying--I never heard you talk about him like that before! So sorry.

Oh mama, I'll miss John too. You've written a moving, beautiful tribute for a thoughtful and talented gentleman.

Linda, I didn't know you did all that stuff. I wish I had met the guy at least once. It sounds like he had a million great stories. Next time we meet please don't waste time on the chit-chat and spin a couple of John yarns. Shit, you met Lucy! And you knew Soupy. Very cool. Did you ever meet my idol, Herve Villechaize? I'll never get over that performance in "Golden Gun". "Oh Monsieur Bond, I'm over here". Sadly, he was overlooked for an Oscar Nomination.

John was my first boss after college - I marched into CBS circa 1955 and was hired on the spot by John and Bob Blake. After Bob left for the coast, John and I were a team of two and what fun he was to work for! Linda, I loved your memories of John. I would have stayed in NY, but wifedom, motherhood and suburbia beckoned me to New Jersey! I was saddened to learn of his death, but what a full, rich life he had. Thanks for the memories.

Can a person cry and have goose bumps at the same time? I do. Linda, you evoked so many memories of the John I also loved so very much! He was truly the best boss, mentor I ever had and to this day, so many years later, I think about all he taught me at my very first "real" job. I think the thing I valued most about John was that he valued each of us. He saw our strengths and nurtured them and gave us what seemed to be sooooo much responsibility that it stretched us even further than we we thought we could go. His confidence in me gave me confidence in me and knowing he was there to smooth all those rough edges out with his charm and wonderful personality made him a brilliant role model! I remember when he had me dress up in a Cinderella white gown to be the "girl" who handed the celebrity presenters the Cutty Sark awards---so theatrical and boy did I feel like a Rockette,( amazing for petite me!). Speaking of petite---there was nothing better than to see John and the glorious, petite Sylvia together---they loved each other so much and they had so much fun together. Linda, you and I will catch up more in person but I thank you for the moving tribute to our handsome, kind, funny and unforgettable John R. Walsh!!!
